Facial plastic surgery and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures for the face have seen a rise in popularity in the last decade. More than ever before, men and women are turning to facial plastic surgeons to help them look more attractive and youthful.

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), doctors performed over 11 million surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures in the United States in 2013.

And, since 1997, when ASAPS began collecting data:

• Surgical cosmetic procedures — such as liposuction and eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) — have increased by 89%.
• Nonsurgical cosmetic procedures — such as Botox® injections and dermal fillers — have increased by 521%.
