Maryanna Owoc, MD, PhD

  • PGY1 Resident

Combining her passion for speech and hearing with medicine and science, Dr. Owoc joined the University of Pittsburgh-Carnegie Mellon University Medical Scientist Training Program with the intention of pursuing a career in otolaryngology. While at Pitt, she was awarded an NIH F30 grant for her dissertation research investigating the role of inhibition in the development of tinnitus and hyperacusis.

Research Interests

In addition to auditory neurobiology, Dr. Owoc is passionate about health equity and has participated in research investigating the role of financial toxicity in head and neck cancer outcomes and sociodemographic factors affecting survivorship clinic attendance.
