Shaum Sridharan, MD

Dr. Sridharan specializes in head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular reconstruction and has specific clinical expertise in cancers of the mouth, throat, thyroid, salivary glands, and ears. He is particularly interested in minimally invasive surgical excision of tumors and advanced reconstructive procedures (microvascular tissue transfer).

Dr. Sridharan is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Head and Neck Society, and the American Laryngological Association. He serves on the Head and Neck Reconstruction Committee, Ethics and Professionalism Committee, and the Humanitarian Committees of the American Head and Neck Society. He is on UPMC's Total Quality Council, the Departments of Otolaryngology and Plastic Surgery's Resident Application Interview Committee, and a faculty participant for the Head and Neck Multi-Disciplinary Tumor Conference, UPMC. Additionally, he is a FAST Advisor for the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and an interviewer on the Medical School Interview Committee and a coach for the Academic Success Coaching Program.

Dr. Sridharan is a reviewer for the Cancer Journal, Oral Oncology Journal, Annals of Medicine, and an editorial board reviewer for the Journal of Microsurgery.

Dr. Sridharan is co-principal Investigator of a Neoadjuvant Phase II study of pembrolizumab in PD-1 naive high-risk resectable cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC).
